Embracing Nature’s Mastery: The Zarzales Project
Nestled in the heart of the woods in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, you’ll find the Zarzales project, an enchanting weekend home. Over the years, our design philosophy has consistently aimed to mirror the age-old beauty nature has perfected.
Symbiotic Design Principles
Our approach with this project was to harmoniously blend it into the surrounding topography. The aim was to offer visitors a seamless view of nature-mimicking canopies, which led us to select exterior finishes and colors akin to tree trunks and forest floors.
Nature as the Protagonist
Drawing from nature’s playbook, we crafted two interlinked volumes connected by a glass path. In the home’s private quarters, we designed each room to feature intimate views of the lushest vegetation.
Blurring the Inside and Outside
As part of our ongoing efforts to erase the lines between outdoor and indoor spaces, we designed a roofed terrace outfitted with glass and wood. This serves to shield visitors from the elements while still immersing them in the sensation of being amidst the forest’s heart.
