Blending French Elegance with Shanghai Flair
Nestled in the heart of Shanghai, this house fusion project by Nong Studio blends the timeless charm of French art de vivre with the dynamic energy of the city. Designed in 2022, this house is a sanctuary for a young fashion-forward couple born in the 1990s.
Limitless Horizons
As you enter the garage, the seamless integration of linear lighting and mirrored surfaces creates an illusion of endless space and a sense of speed. The pure white spiral staircase serves as an elegant transition, leading you into a world of refined yet relaxed living.
A Versatile Oasis
Ascending the winding staircase, you’ll discover a harmonious blend of brass, marble, and parquet flooring that evokes the vibrant scenes of Sex and the City. This multilayered space houses an audio-video room, bar, photography studio, and even a children’s playground, offering something for every member of the family.
A Sunny French Courtyard
On the first floor, the designers have crafted a sunny and cozy “yard” that seamlessly separates living and dining spaces. The green onyx wall gently introduces greenery and natural light, while the elegant curtain-shaped parapet and continuous arch doors reshape the rigid windows, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.
Vintage Kitchen, Modern Elegance
In the foyer, the use of transparent and yellow glass bricks forms a container of light, leading you into the kitchen and breakfast area. The dark green SMEG appliances and the curved oak wine cabinet, reminiscent of wisteria vines, evoke a dreamy vintage kitchen ambiance.
Intimate Family Retreat
Upstairs, the corridor connects the master bedroom suite with the children’s bedroom, creating a serene and intimate family retreat. The master bedroom features a romantic and comfortable family room, with a true fireplace and artworks adorning the walls.
