Humble House, a two-storey house designed by R Architecture located in Berwick, Melbourne, Australia, is a contemporary house with timeless finishes and low-maintenance living.
With the precision and foresight of a sculptor, this project chips away at the stifling ‘nice to haves’ of homelife, leaving behind only the essentials of elegant, functional living — the result is a sloping form that echoes the natural elevations of its site, strategically carved into three geometric pavilions. A stone’s throw away from Wilson Botanic Gardens, Humble House brings the outdoors in at every opportunity. Drawing on the client’s cultural heritage, the concept embodies key traits found in traditional Indian homes and offers a refined, though unassuming aesthetic that advocates for the joys of stripping away excess and living simply with ease.
Introducing Autumn House – a stunning Victorian terrace house situated in Melbourne, Australia. Designed by Studio Bright in 2021, this property features a careful new layer stitched into the existing architecture and an 80’s renovation by architect Mick Jorgensen.
This project offers the perfect balance between the original Victorian elements and the addition by Studio Bright. It offers northern sunlight, raw-timber-lined ceilings, red brick floors and an outlook to the elm tree. The new work forms a series of curving and angled moves at ground level, and the exterior is defined by a mesh-screen clad wedge. It is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Melbourne city, offering a secret garden bursting out over the brick wall.

Introducing the stunning House in the Dry, located in Tamworth, Australia. This semi-rural home was designed by MRTN Architects to be a contemporary and energy-efficient residence, blending perfectly into the surrounding landscape.
The house was built on ex-grazing land and its design was focused on regenerating the native plants while resisting drought conditions. With an almost totally enclosed courtyard garden in the center of the house, it also boasts a solar panel array and north facing thermal mass, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly home.
No. 6 Sydney Street is a multi-family house located in the inner-city suburb of Prahran, Victoria, Australia. Designed by Wood Marsh Architecture in 2022, this project is a unique combination of craft and nature, creating a building structure carefully disguised as an organic sculpture.
Its sinuous curves and asymmetrical form appear to be carved from a singular raw material, abstracting its formal composition. With its connection to nature, and use of movement, and artistry, No. 6 Sydney Street sits in contrast to its surrounding residential context.
Set in the vibrant city of Sydney, Australia, the Quarry-Box project is a contemporary house designed by MCK Architecture + Interiors in 2022.
Its unique location, on a compact former quarry, with a steep rock escarpment defining almost two edges of the buildable area, inspired a vertical outcome that maximizes access to the district and coastal views. The plan-efficient new home includes three levels, with an entry + living zone on the ground floor, bedrooms on the first floor, and an additional level above that with stunning views of the city. The Quarry-Box project provides a young growing family with an efficient and modest home, with moments and memories to be shared.
