Introducing the Penthouse in Barcelona, Spain, designed by Nomo Studio! This modern penthouse apartment has been completely redistributed and adapted to a contemporary open plan lifestyle.
Its design is a combination of classic elegance and modern approach. Its main elements such as the custom designed pivot elements, high bar countertop, extra-large marble center tables, hovering fireplace, and mirrors create a sequence of interrelated atmospheres. To bring in one of the marble tables, the façade was unmounted. The master bedroom is structured only by detached wardrobes and sliding partitions. The apartment is splashed with bright bold colored elements and natural materials such as oak and teak pavements, marble and granite countertops, and ceramic coverings. All furniture such as closets, low tables, and working desks were custom designed. The kitchen, flooded with natural light, has become a place for dining, reading, socializing, or working.
This Barcelona penthouse is the perfect example of an urban aesthetic in tune with the clients’ personality.
Introducing The Mill House, a stunning fusion of traditional and modern design located in the charming village of Attard, Malta. Designed by Valentino Architects in 2022, this house seamlessly connects a cluster of Grade I and II Listed buildings, including a mill room dating back to the mid-to-late 16th century.
The design centers around an outdoor courtyard that serves as a connecting agent, allowing the separate living spaces to communicate with each other and the sun-soaked hearth of the home. A glazed walkway serves as a reflective layer of contrast between old and new, forming a lustrous perimeter along two internal facades. The walkway’s opacity changes throughout the day, creating different effects and views of the surrounding village. On the ground level, the dining and living areas look out to the courtyard, while tall cabinets punctuate the space, resembling minimalist boulders that double as doorways to tangential rooms.

BD House is a contemporary brick house located in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands. Designed by Space Encounters in 2022, BD House was a layered transformation of a modest white villa from the 1950s, situated between coastal dunes, a pine forest, and the open polder landscape.
The house has been enlarged, made future-proof, and adapted to changing wishes and demands for contemporary living. The combination of the existing volume and that of the extension creates a play between symmetry and asymmetry. The transparent facade is made of sustainably preserved Fraké wood, and the extension has been materialised in recycled dark brown bricks.
With its beautiful location, BD House offers a unique blend of cultural heritage, sustainable transformation, and the rich natural qualities of the area.
Located in Broek op Langedijk, Netherlands, the AB House is a contemporary single family house designed by Space Encounters in 2022.
It is nestled in a unique landscape of hundreds of small islands that were only accessible by boat until the 1970s land consolidation. The AB House stands out from its neighbours with its fragmented volumes, dominant pitched roofs, steel mesh wrap and white painted brickwork. Inside, the house is outfitted with abstract openings, prismatic forms and carefully detailed aluminium finishings. This unique combination of traditional and modern elements allow the AB House to fully absorb the qualities of the surrounding green and water-rich environment, making it an ideal place to call home.
