Located in Murcia, Spain, the Pa(i)saje House designed by Laura Ortín Arquitectura is an apartment that has been designed with modern and traditional elements to provide a space full of character and comfort.

The apartment features natural pine wood furniture, polished recycled marble flooring, handmade woodwork, ceilings, and hanging lamps. Its open front area creates a continuous daytime space and its double circulation allows for easy navigation through the house.

About Pa(i)saje House

“The House as a Dream Body”: How Emotions Drive Home Design

Inheriting a house is a deeply personal experience. The memories and emotions it holds can make redesign a difficult choice. We work with our clients to understand their desires and transform their dreams into reality. Guided by the philosophy of Gaston Bachelard, we respect the emotional attachments to the house while introducing modern updates to improve its functionality and comfort.

“Can a Domestic Space Be a Landscape?”: Building a Deconstructed Home

We challenge traditional ideas of home design in this project. By deconstructing the landscape and incorporating it into the interior, we create a unique and comfortable living space. Our design features a double circulation plan that eliminates long corridors and offers a new balcony and study spaces. The use of a specific “celosia” allows for improved acoustics and sun protection. Our inspiration comes from Olafur Eliasson’s landscape art and the traditional Mediterranean architecture.

“Real Materials, Living Materials”: Creating a Natural Home

We believe in creating a home that is in harmony with nature. All of the materials used in the redesign are natural, from the natural pine wood furniture and flooring to the recycled polished marble stone floor. Our design features unique and handcrafted woodwork, ceilings, and lighting fixtures. The use of natural materials adds an unparalleled warmth and character to the home.
