About Wine Country Retreat
Discovering a Napa Valley Oasis
Our San Francisco clients, seeking a weekend sanctuary for their family, stumbled upon their dream retreat in Napa Valley’s picturesque landscape. Envisioning a sustainable vacation home, they partnered with Blu Homes. Together, we focused on creating an energy-efficient prefab home, boasting bespoke elements like a faux-bois plaster wall in the master bedroom and floor-to-ceiling chalkboard cabinetry in the kitchen.
Interior Harmony: Blending Function and Aesthetics
In collaboration with Blu Homes, we chose finishes and fixtures that echo the home’s sustainable ethos. The master bedroom features a unique faux-bois plaster wall, enhancing its rustic charm. In the kitchen, chalkboard cabinetry reaches from floor to ceiling, offering a playful yet practical touch. For the girls’ bedroom, a woodsy wallpaper adds a whimsical feel. Niche Interiors and Terra Ferma Landscapes joined forces on the outdoor spaces. They designed custom cushions and pillows for the fire pit area and adorned the pool cabana with sheer drapes, perfect for filtering sunlight on warm days.
Fusing Style and Comfort in Furnishings
The home’s furnishings marry mid-century designs with modern, low-profile pieces, creating a relaxed ambiance. Textural rugs and fabrics, along with handcrafted wood pieces, infuse warmth into the space. This backdrop allows the contemporary artwork to shine. Local artisans contributed unique touches, including an impressive 11-foot (3.35 meters) long rift oak dining table, crowned by molded plywood pendant lights. In the living room, two custom eco-friendly sofas anchor the space. These sofas, crafted from natural latex, organic wool, and FSC-certified wood frames, epitomize sustainable luxury.
