Infusing Modernity into Classic Roman Architecture
In the heart of Trastevere, this petite 80 square meter (approximately 861 square feet) Roman apartment has been artfully updated to modern living standards, yet still celebrates its architectural heritage. Additionally, a soothing pastel palette unites with the natural oak parquet flooring, enveloping residents in warmth.
Harmonizing Past and Present
Moreover, the restoration has brought the ancient wooden ceiling back to its original color, complementing the floor and enhancing the historical ambiance. In the master bedroom, the architect’s custom-designed closet combines plasterboard with wood and backlit plexiglass, reminiscent of Monet’s dancers.
Furthermore, the bathroom’s grey resin walls and the long, practical sink shelf merge sleek design with everyday utility. These elements carefully bridge the gap between the apartment’s storied past and its fresh, modern identity, offering a renewed take on traditional Roman elegance.
