About One Room – Five Places
Revamping a Milan Studio: Live, Work, and Relax
In the heart of Milan, we transformed a studio into a multipurpose space.
In collaboration with Arch. Elanandez, our vision stemmed from the client’s need for versatility. They sought a space that effortlessly shifted between an office, a short-term rental, and a relaxation haven.
Light and Views Take Center Stage
We prioritized natural lighting and maximized the grandeur of the expansive windows.
Designing Distinct Spaces in One
Even though it’s a single studio, our design clearly demarcates different areas. Visitors can distinguish the entrance, bathroom, sleeping quarters, relaxation zone, and the kitchen/dining area.
A Kitchen That Disappears
The kitchen design posed a challenge. Our goal: a fully-functional kitchen (complete with a sink, stove, washing machine, and refrigerator) that could vanish from sight when not needed. And we achieved it. A panel now allows the entire kitchen to disappear, leaving a sleek white block in view.
