This lovely home located in a cathedral in Granada, Spain, has been redesigned in 2020 by CMYK Arquitectos.
Description
The project is for a young freelance 3D designer who wanted to be able to combine his workplace with his home.
For this from the beginning it was taken into account that this professional space had to be inspiring, since he was going to spend a good part of the day in it. It was decided to integrate it with the living area, in order to gather several environments in the same space, thus gaining a lot of space.
One of the most important decisions of the reform was to discover what was above the false ceiling of cane that was in very bad condition. On premise it was known that the roof was attic but the surprise came when we found some sloping wooden ceilings in very good condition.
This was the key to gain height and spaciousness in most of the rooms, especially in the bedrooms. Another important detail was to try to recover the original wooden structure. And all this could be achieved by sticking to a rigorous budget.
