About Shenzhen Lakeside Villa
Revitalizing Home Design: Exploring the Artistic Spirit of This 6-Story Townhouse in Shenzhen
Situated in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, this 6-story townhouse is surrounded by gorgeous lakes and lush forests, providing easy access to both Shenzhen Bay and the South China Sea. The designers of this abode have skillfully blended Eastern elegance, Western aesthetics, Chinese charm, French classics, colourful ink, and black and white minimalism to infuse the space with a distinct artistic spirit.
A Butterfly Installation Inspired by Metamorphosis
The butterfly art installation draws inspiration from artist Zhou Li’s “Metamorphosis.” Traditional weaving techniques are used to create a flexible wire design that is both light and dynamic, symbolizing the tension of rebirth.
Bringing Eastern Poetry to the Home
A folding screen featuring a crane pattern on a black background adds Eastern poetry to the corner of the home. Enjoy the pleasure of comfort, ease, and peace with a book in hand, while being surrounded by the warmth of daylight and the beauty of the four seasons.
Functional Artistic Installations Throughout
The different staircases, both functional and artistic, help to reduce the dullness of the space and allow valuable ventilation into the previously gloomy, one-sided negative floor. On the 3rd floor rest area, the elegant retro branches and birds, the forest greenery that dots the bed and cabinet, and the light that pours in through the gauze curtains all contribute to a vivid and detailed scene that gives a strong life force and unrestrained tension.
Designers’ Words of Wisdom
The designers of this home have said: “Design is a means of self-discovery and self-expression. Another aspect of inner expression is: Being completely relaxed to perceive the body and mind, to generate emotions, to discover oneself, and to develop empathy with a particular culture.”
