About Casa Ohana

Immersed in the Lush Jungle: Casa Ohana’s Seamless Embrace

Nestled within the verdant lowlands of Puerto Escondido, Casa Ohana emerges as a captivating sanctuary. Designed by Vertebral in 2023, this private beach house seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings – the jungle, the beach, and the sea.

A Sinuous Path to Reveal Nature’s Grandeur

A meandering path winds through the dense vegetation, interrupted by a striking planting of Mesquite and Plumbago. Suddenly, a monolithic structure with a floating roof and ample shade comes into view, evoking the illusion of a ship navigating the high winds and seas.

Harmonious Openness and Intimacy

The social area of the house is a vast, elevated platform composed of staggered slabs, capturing panoramic views and the gentle breeze from all angles. Overhead, a light canopy extends, shielding from the summer rains and winter sun. The overlapping of the sloping platform and flat slab creates a tunnel that accelerates the wind, enhancing the freshness within the high-temperature coastal environment.

In contrast, the private areas are envisioned as almost closed volumes, with strategic openings framing the ocean view and a serene backyard garden, providing moments of tranquility and privacy.

Embracing the Natural Setting

The essence of luxury in Casa Ohana lies in its harmonious integration with the natural landscape. Cross-ventilation, captivating ocean vistas, and the incorporation of intimate gardens in each room cultivate a sense of calm and seclusion. This residence serves as a catalyst for coexistence with the jungle, the beach, and the sea.
