Vivienda Sur by María Acha

Designer María Acha has renovated the Vivienda Sur house in Spain, giving both floors individual personalities to create unique experiences. The project’s foundations include natural inspiration, open spaces, and curved lines for calm environments. This comprehensive renovation aimed to enhance the quality and duration of the clients’ vacation experiences in the home.

Casa sur is a commission carried out by clients already familiar with the work of Maria Acha to whom they entrusted this comprehensive renovation. All with the hope to give a different approach to the two story house in which they spent their vacations in order to extend the time and quality of their experiences there. From the beginning of this project María Acha and her then partners at Wonbat Studio planned to provide a different personality to each of the two floors so that being in each one provided clients and guests with different experiences equally attractive.

The challenge was to achieve this while maintaining global harmony in the whole.

The foundations of the project were the creation of a home inspired by nature, with open spaces, in which the curved lines flow and provide calm. Spaces that bring peace and well-being.

On the main floor was chosen a more austere use of the color range, sticking to various neutral and warm colors. Also in the use of materials, the choice was made of natural materials such as clay, oak wood and organic coatings.
