About House in Madrid

Welcome to “House in Madrid,” a project that encapsulates Ventura Estudio’s flair for harmonizing the traditional with the modern. Located in the heart of Spain, this mid-century residence, belonging to one of the firm’s partners, doubles as a canvas for architectural experimentation and a testament to their craft—a show home for potential clientele.

Stepping into Sophistication

Cross the threshold into a living space where history breathes through preserved 19th-century elements. The living room, first in the logical procession of rooms, boasts a vast array of books set against white walls, above a caramel leather couch that invites engaging discussions or solitary musings.

Culinary Chic

From the communal comfort of the living room, transition to the culinary heart of the home—the kitchen. It’s a testament to minimalism, where the clean lines of modern cabinetry and a sleek black countertop offer functionality while keeping the space uncluttered, allowing the original herringbone flooring to shine.

Refresh and Revitalize

Following the natural flow of the home, find solace in the bathroom. Here, practicality meets visual appeal. Black fixtures stand against muted walls and a patterned floor, while purpose-placed lighting creates an atmosphere that complements the room’s modernity.

Slumber in Style

Continue to the bedroom, a sanctuary designed for rest. Crisp linens on a spacious bed promise comfort, while the ambient lighting and soft color palette invite a peaceful slumber, beneath a canvas speckled with stars, subtly reminding one of the universe beyond.

Dining with a Dash of Drama

Complete your tour in the dining room, where stories and meals are shared. A stately table anchors the room, encircled by plush chairs that offer a hint of luxury. The striking contrast of the dark wood against the light flooring underlines the studio’s ability to balance drama with simplicity.

The “House in Madrid” is not just a dwelling but a carefully choreographed experience. By maintaining the building’s original spirit and combining it with contemporary interventions, Ventura Estudio ensures that every room tells a story, each space a chapter in a harmonious home designed not just for today but for a legacy that will endure.
