About True Blue Terrace
Revitalizing Victorian Elegance for Modern Living
We transformed a Victorian terrace into a powerhouse of modern family life, meticulously optimizing every millimeter. This meticulous planning gave rise to a spacious atmosphere. Our design cleverly combines a portable workspace, play area, toy storage, and versatile dining area, all while showcasing vibrant colors and pattern repetition.
A Palette of Simplicity and Function
Heeding a brief centered on simplicity, functionality, and stellar design, we let two existing furniture pieces guide our selections. For the fixed fittings, we embraced a classic black and white scheme. This choice not only nods to the historic tiles of the terrace but also introduces a sleek, modern palette of black, white, and wood. Patterns such as stripes and Hound’s-tooth emerged, adding a distinctive character to the interiors. The living area bursts with a spectrum of blues, capturing the sky as seen from the entryway. A custom purple Houndstooth rug anchors this space, connecting it to the natural beauty of a nearby Jacaranda tree.
Creating Cozy and Functional Spaces
In the library, we introduced blackened timber joinery, setting the stage for a round, swiveling sofa in burnt orange. This space, complete with a circular rug, forms the cozy heart of the home, ideal for reading bedtime stories or unwinding. The iconic curved Arco lamp reduces the need for overhead lighting, embodying our commitment to functionality and design integrity. The foldable desk epitomizes modern work life, offering flexibility to work in sunlit or quiet corners.
Seamless Integration of Style and Durability
Our interior decoration strategy ensures a harmonious blend with both contemporary and period architecture, enhancing flow and flexibility within compact spaces. We focused on durability and timeless appeal in our selections, emphasizing quality in both design and manufacturing. The blend of natural and synthetic fibers in our textiles ensures durability, with each pattern and color chosen for its significance. Open to unconventional dining and working arrangements, our clients embraced a dining table that adapts to daily family life and entertaining needs. The Vitra Flexible NesTable epitomizes versatility, easily moving throughout the house to suit the family’s dynamic lifestyle.
A Future-Proofed Home
Our approach was thoughtful and profound, tailored to our clients’ lifestyle and necessities. By choosing furniture that fulfills its original design intent, such as the 360-degree rotating Amoenus sofa, we enhanced the utility and aesthetics of each space. The strategic use of the Arco lamp further exemplifies this philosophy, minimizing the need for additional lighting. This project stands as a testament to a future-oriented living philosophy where less indeed translates to more, achieving a balance between past and present, utility and beauty.
