About Molo House
Breath-taking Transformation Overlooking Genova’s Old Harbour
Perched atop a towering building in Genova’s historic harbour, this flat boasts unparalleled city views. Our redesign entirely transformed its layout, emphasizing a seamless integration between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Mastering Natural Light
We prioritized natural light management. Strategic alterations included punctuating the upper slab, positioning a window between rooms, and incorporating reflective materials inside. A new skylight now welcomes the Mediterranean sun, illuminating the transparent iron stairs that lead straight to the rooftop garden.
Multifunctional Living Room Showcase
A vast custom furniture piece anchors the living room. Remarkably, it serves multiple purposes: a dining bench, sofa, bookshelf, storage, and even steps. Crafted from colored medium-density fibreboards (valchromat®), this fixture seamlessly melds functionality and aesthetics.
Nods to the Past
Vintage armchairs and refurbished doors transport visitors to the 1950s, the era when the apartment originated. Iconic touches, such as handles by Gio Ponti and lamps by Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé, further celebrate this period.
Doubling the Comfort
Our renovation effectively doubled the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in the flat, enhancing both space and luxury.
