About Architects’ House
A Prefab Family Home Embraced by Nature in Riga
In Riga, a family home was built off-site as a prefab and carefully placed on the land to harmonize with the surrounding birch trees. The windows seamlessly connect the indoors to the outdoors, resulting in a unified architectural, interior, and landscaping design.
Windows as Portals to Unique Worlds
Each window uncovers a different world, reflecting the family’s values such as their passion for books showcased in the home library. The children’s rooms draw inspiration from the pillow forts, tents, and hideaways of the parents’ own childhood, creating a safe haven within the nurturing environment of the family home.
Estonian Timber Cladding and Tikkurila Grey Wood Treatment
The exterior features timber cladding sourced from Estonia and treated with the Tikkurila Grey Wood product, adding an elegant touch to the home’s overall aesthetic.
