Emerald is a luxury single-story residence on Lake Garda in Italy, designed by Building in 2022.
Description
Set in the morainic hills overlooking Lake Garda, Villa Emerald rises as a true gem of architecture and design that evokes in its name the color of the waters in which it is reflected, in benevolent connection with the landscape and nature.
The Emerald private residence is characterized by the careful choice of colors and fine materials of the finishes, the great attention to the furnishing components, enriched by art elements, in a majestic combination of art and architecture that makes the construction extraordinary and unique.
Emerald is a project that fits harmoniously into the morphology of the place and takes full advantage of the hilly crags within which it is developed. The villa in its framework keeps visible the sinuous shape of the hills, in a solution of continuity with the landscape and a decentralized position with respect to the trapezoidal lot, designed to create a more extensive and usable outdoor area, with a large area for the pool and solarium.
The home is laid out with a distinctive “boomerang” shape that encourages frontal views of the lake and a fully glazed interior area that runs throughout the entire living area and master bedroom. With an eye to privacy to and from adjacent properties, the exterior elevation of the property, on the other hand, is completely blind except for the front door which is accessed via a walkway from the street.
Respecting the trend and character of the terracing, the property is spread over three floors, with the ground floor housing the pool area, garden, and living area. At the lowest elevation are the driveway access, the maneuvering yard and the underground garages, while a third level carved out of the roof opens onto a flat terrace that from the Brescian shore of Lake Garda provides a clear view of the Sirmione peninsula and the Veronese shores.
The building and systems are built with the latest technologies and with the aim of optimizing energy efficiency according to the criteria of CasaClima certification, reserving special consideration for thermal and acoustic insulation.
“This project was born with the aim of developing a dialogue between architecture and nature, enhancing the enchanting Garda landscape,” said Piero Boffa, founder of Boffa Petrone & Partners and president of Building Group. We tried to integrate Emerald into the terracing leading to the lake, taking advantage of the conformation of the lot and the movement of the hills to the benefit of respecting the existing volumes and the view. Our design team is increasingly specialized in this kind of intervention that aims to create beauty by making the most of natural and site elements.”
“Emerald is a gemstone that refers to elegance, perfection, refinement, and these were the cardinal points for the creation of Villa Emerald”-observes interior designer Kristina Pulaeva. The interiors of the Villa were designed in collaboration with Elio Sereno Home as an interplay of contrasts and geometries that reveal an elegant and dynamic atmosphere at the same time. The large glazed section amplifies the overall idea of space and allows the rooms to open up to the outdoors and the surrounding landscape. The lights and colors are inspired by the context of the ‘Mediterranean scrubland’ of Lake Garda, as is also the choice of materials dominated by natural elements such as wood and marble, sometimes alternating with industrial-inspired metals for the furniture complements, the staircase and some artworks.”
