Enowa Yufuin is a luxury resort located near the hot-spring district of Yufuin, in Yufu City, Oita Prefecture. This expansive resort, covering about 44,000 square meters (473,612 square feet), sits between 543 to 585 meters (1,781 to 1,919 feet) above sea level. It offers breathtaking views of Mt. Yufu and the tranquil Yufu townscape. We designed the guest accommodations to reflect a botanical retreat, blending the natural beauty of the area into a concept we call “primitive luxury.”
Seamless Integration with Nature
The resort’s design includes ten villas, a restaurant, and a nine-room hotel with private dining areas, all harmonizing with the natural terrain. The gardens, both indoor and outdoor, are rich with trees, herbs, and greenery, effortlessly connecting with the surrounding landscape. The guest rooms feature natural materials like solid wood, stone, and earthen walls, creating a simple, luxurious feel. Each room, enhanced with art that complements the natural setting, offers guests a unique experience of “primitive luxury.”
Villas: A Blend of Elegance and Nature
The main attraction, the villas, are designed to blend with the environment. Their large windows and terraces provide stunning views of the mountains and Yufu City. Each villa has a heated infinity pool and an outdoor hot-spring bath with 100-percent natural Onsen water. This water, cooled using a bamboo structure known as Yumetake, maintains its natural quality. These features combine refined design with the essence of nature.
