Welcome to the Newport Houses in Brisbane, Australia, a pair of two-story waterfront homes designed by Jasper Brown Architects in 2020.

Nestled in the stunning Newport near Redcliffe, these contemporary homes feature a continuous gently sloping roof that falls to the west, giving each house a distinct spatial character. Between the two houses is a communal courtyard, while a wet-edge pool blends seamlessly into its lakefront surroundings. Inside, a sunken living area with deep-set built-in lounge seat in marshmallow pink leather is sure to catch the eye, while copper surfaces add warmth to the bedroom retreat on the first-floor level.

This serene waterfront retreat is located in the unique landscape of the creek at Towd Point, in Southampton, one of only 28 Federal Ecological Preserves in the US. Designed by the architecture firm TRA Studio, Cottage at Towd Point Road is the only house whose site is at the bend of the Towd Point peninsula, right where the views of the protected creek are at the widest and where a little beach naturally occurred. This minimalist property provides stunning views of the Atlantic and the surrounding nature, perfect for a peaceful getaway for friends and family.

On the shores of Seattle’s Lake Washington, SHED Architecture & Design created a family compound with a carefully designed solution to bring together an old and new structure.

For the primary residence, SHED remodeled the existing house and added new decks to extend the living space outdoors. The boathouse and guest quarters offer a small refuge for reflection, boat storage, and a garage, all while anchoring the west side of the property. The exterior is formed on white brick walls, with a darker volume clad in Japanese cypress and metal paneling. With its beautiful views and cozy interiors, this family compound is sure to become a beloved home for years to come.
