North Bay Road Residence by Choeff Levy Fischman
Located on North Bay Road in Miami Beach, Florida, this stunning two-story, waterfront Tropical Modern home was designed by award-winning architecture and design firm Choeff Levy Fischman. The Miami-based architects have gained global notoriety for their preeminent Tropical Modern luxury homes – a style fusing mid-century motifs with tropical elements including South American hardwoods, exotic stones, and water features.
This 10,000+ square-foot home features six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, a private carriage house that’s separated from the main home plus a rooftop terrace that’s accessible by a white spiral staircase designed as a sculptural element.
The entrance of the home is lushly landscaped with tropical plants, exotic stones and water features. The carriage house, which has a bedroom, full bathroom and kitchenette, is partially above the Ipe wood car garage and accessed separately by a glass-enclosed staircase. As one walks under the carriage house, natural stone steps lead to a cascading pond and a green living wall, providing a Zen-like experience before entering the main home.
The residence boasts an open-living floor plan with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that blur the lines between the inside and outside. The tropical modern home incorporates warm Ipe woods, white stucco finishes, limestone cladding and black marble walls for an elegant touch. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a private balcony with glass railings and deep Ipe wood overhangs, a large closet and a bathroom with a sauna.
Outdoors, the infinity-edge pool has a unique sunken living room with a fire pit surrounded by water on all sides for a floating effect. For entertaining al-fresco, the summer kitchen with bar seating overlooks the pool and Biscayne Bay. By the pool the area, there is a gym surrounded by glass windows with unobstructed views of the water for those inspired moments.
