About Arte Surfside
Embracing the Urban Streetscape and Beachfront Exposure
Crafted to mirror the leisurely charm of Collins Avenue’s hospitality and residential buildings, Arte’s architecture also beautifully showcases the building’s east-side beach exposure. “The building and the setting share an intrinsic connection, a goal we pursue in every project, yet rarely achieve to this extent,” notes architect Antonio Citterio.
Balanced Design and Intricate Urban Complexity
Arte elegantly balances the site requirements through symmetrically stacked components centered around the east-west axis. This methodology results in a mirrored architectural effect, with east and west elevations echoing each other. Despite its urban location amid historical surroundings, Arte maintains a complexity that yields broad, unobstructed ocean views.
Celebrating Outdoor Living in Italian Style
The design language of Arte celebrates outdoor living in a distinctively Italian way, striking a delicate balance between protection and fragility. Co-architect Patricia Viel comments, “We crafted the building to underscore the unique relationship between the urban environment and the beach – a synergy seldom seen in Miami buildings.”
Articulation of Building Mass and Historical Allusions
Spanning 105,500 sq ft (approximately 9803.44 sq m), the building horizontally comprises a series of terraces. These outdoor spaces allow the building mass to ‘step back’ gracefully, satisfying zoning requirements. Reflecting Miami-Dade & Surfside’s historical precedents, exquisite materials such as travertine, bronze-colored finishes, and glass lend a contemporary perspective to the new development.
Amenities, Services, and the Harmony of Interior Spaces
Located on the opposite side of Collins Avenue, the amenities and services building offers a spa, a tennis court, and a clubhouse. The subtle interplay between urban context, architecture, and nature informs the design of the interior spaces, striking a perfect balance between seclusion and transparency.
Understated Luxury and Homely Impressions
Arte offers residents landscaped terraces with unhindered ocean views, encapsulating each private space’s sense of understated and casual luxury. Using a unified composition of textures in bronze, wood, stone, and glass, Arte creates an atmosphere of inviting warmth along the beachfront of Surfside, Miami.
