About For You Alone

Exploring the Concept of Feminist Interior Design

Is the concept of a feminist interior a reality? This is a question we often ponder. What we can affirm, however, is the growing prevalence of independent, driven professional women who have more important aspirations than simply dreaming of a house. Our assertion stems from the number of such women reaching out to us for advice and guidance, desiring a space tailored not for their children or spouses, but for themselves. A space where they can unwind in solitude or in company after a challenging day at work or from anywhere they choose to venture.

Redefining Femininity in Interior Design

Long gone are the days when interiors had to be Provençal, pink, or shabby chic to be considered feminine. Many of these modern women find the kitchen specs or the capacity of the walk-in closet to house stiletto shoes as inconsequential as the hue of their neighbor’s bathroom rug. In light of this, or perhaps for one such extraordinary woman, we’ve ventured to design a home where femininity is aligned more with accommodating a functional lifestyle that breaks gender stereotypes, than with portraying sensitivity, intimacy, or the caretaking of others.
