Casa Gueli by Qiarq Arquitectura + Design
Casa Gueli is a contemporary apartment located in Viseu, Portugal, designed in 2021 by Qiarq Arquitectura + Design.
Description
The starting point was an apartment with excellent sun exposure, which was intended to be practical and versatile, able to change according to specific needs and situations.
The interior wooden shutters are the main elements of this house, capable of responding to these changes. It allows the kitchen to be open to the living room, as well as to hide it. It opens to an office space integrated into the living room, but also allows it to be hidden at the end of the day when we want to relax without thinking about work, as well as allowing the creation of a privacy barrier against the curious look of someone unknown knocking at the door.
Natural lighting was used to the maximum in every room of this apartment.
The choice of materials and finishes followed the path of making the environments assumedly comfortable and maintaining a uniform language in all compartments of the dwelling around white, gray, and wood in natural color.
