About Lipno Lakeside Cabin

Located in the heart of the Bohemian Forest, the Lipno Lakeside Cabin stands as a captivating fusion of contemporary design and natural harmony. Designed by the talented team at Les Archinautes, this remarkable residence, located in Frymburk, Czech Republic, offers a serene retreat from the busy world.

Honoring Tradition, Embracing Modernity

The cabin’s architecture pays homage to the regional Bohemian Forest style, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. With a rectangular floor plan, compact shape, and orientation along the contour line, the structure respects the height conditions of the area. Additionally, the pronounced gable overhang and creation of a covered porch are hallmarks of the local architectural vernacular.

Connecting with Nature

The cabin’s thoughtful design allows for a harmonious relationship with the natural world. Framed by the majestic Lipno Lake and the distant peaks, the living space is centered around a dominant gabled square window, providing a captivating vista. The forest’s presence is woven throughout the interior, with the use of natural materials, scents, and colors creating a truly immersive experience.

Functional Versatility

Designed to cater to outdoor enthusiasts, the cabin offers a versatile and practical layout. The ground floor houses a small room, bathroom, laundry room, sauna, and storage for sports and technical equipment. The attic level, meanwhile, accommodates two bedrooms and additional bathroom and pantry spaces.

Seamless Outdoor Integration

Extending the living experience beyond the walls, the cabin is surrounded by a wooden terrace. With its variable width, the terrace, combined with the significant roof overhang, creates a range of versatile outdoor spaces for relaxation, sun-bathing, and storage.

Craftsmanship and Collaboration

The Lipno Lakeside Cabin is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Constructed using CLT panels, the wooden structure is visible throughout the interior, complemented by larch facade cladding, integrated sliding shutters, and a sheet metal roof. The project’s success is a result of the close collaboration between the designers and the family-owned construction company, 3AE.

A Harmonious Retreat

In summary, the Lipno Lakeside Cabin is a captivating architectural gem that seamlessly blends modern design with the timeless beauty of the Bohemian Forest. This single-story, attic-equipped residence offers a serene and functional base for outdoor enthusiasts, providing a harmonious retreat amidst the stunning natural surroundings.
