Next to the Blue Church: A Loft’s Sky-High Transformation

Next to the Blue Church: A Loft’s Sky-High Transformation

Discover the serene blend of minimalist design and breathtaking views with Next to the Blue Church, a weekend loft by Kilo Honč. This unique space in Bratislava, Slovakia, transcends the traditional confines of interior architecture, presenting a transparent and functional canvas against the backdrop of the city’s iconic Art Nouveau gem, The Blue Church.

Focusing on light and shadow, this 2021 loft celebrates openness over detailed design. We removed the low ceiling, added a mezzanine, and used glass blocks for an airy feel. The large daybed and white walls, which double as a projection screen, replace standard furnishings. Thus, we assert that simplicity triumphs. This loft is not just grand but also inspires ongoing creativity and engagement.

Relaxing Vibe at DENTLY Dental Clinic by AT26 Architects

Relaxing Vibe at DENTLY Dental Clinic by AT26 Architects

DENTLY – the new dental clinic located in Bratislava, Slovakia, is part of the renowned SKY PARK project designed by the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid. Created with user-friendliness and comfort in mind, this modern clinic was designed in 2021 by AT26 Architects.

The clinic consists of two identical functional branches, connected by a reception desk, a small meeting room/office, and a generous waiting area. The calming elements such as an aquarium, plants, and a TV were placed in the space to make the experience for the clients less stressful. The interior design is corresponding to the original space with its curves and materials, such as concrete columns mirrored in big formats of concrete tiles. Wood as a natural material enhances the calming atmosphere, making DENTLY a relaxing and comfortable place to visit.

Base4Work Bratislava by Studio Perspektiv

Base4Work Bratislava, designed by the Studio Perspektiv in 2021, is the perfect example of a modern office space that pays homage to its industrial past. Located in the heart of Bratislava, Slovakia, the heating plant-turned-coworking centre, originally designed by architect Dušan Jurkovič, has been tastefully renovated to offer 3,900 square metres (42,000 square feet) of flexible workspace for up to 450 people.

This unique and inspiring space is a combination of the old industrial elements, such as the original crane forming the atypical open ceiling of the shared office, and modern design elements reflecting the 21st century. With its impressive combination of craftsmanship and contemporary materials, this coworking centre is the perfect place for corporate clients, start-ups, and freelancers alike.
