Vacation House by Paly Architects

Perched near Cape Koutoulos’ summit, this luxury vacation home designed by Paly Architects melds with the wild terrain. Earthy materials shape it, and it stands shielded from the north wind. The home boasts southern views of the Cretan Sea.

A sturdy L-shaped stone wall extends the mountain’s reach, organizing the indoor layout. Two distinct volumes house the living areas and bedroom suites. They join via a semi-open passageway that stretches from the mountain base to a floating platform.

Materials like grey concrete, soil-colored clay, and rusty metal complement the setting. Pergolas of natural wood and local stone add to the mix. Inside, four en-suite bedrooms share space with a communal kitchen, dining, and living area. Outside, a BBQ, open dining space, and a cozy semi-open area with a fireplace invite leisure and conversation with the elements.
