About House in Streatham
Elegant Revival of an Edwardian Residence in Streatham, London
Initiating with a comprehensive interior refit, the project subsequently embraced the addition of a 200 sqm (2,153 sq ft) basement floor.
Meticulously sculpted to meet a trio’s lifestyle, the design further embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
While preserving the street facade’s historical charm, the rear facade gracefully unfolds into the garden, subsequently boasting ground-floor extensions and, additionally, a freshly minted attic.
Upon entering, the ground floor living room flows effortlessly into a garden adorned with mature hedging and verdant trees. Ascending to the first floor, one discovers three cozy bedrooms and two well-appointed bathrooms. Moreover, the attic unveils a 50 sqm (538 sq ft) suite, complete with a private bathroom, offering a secluded haven.
Unveiling a Subterranean Sanctuary
The newly minted basement floor reveals a modern gym, a spacious wardrobe, and a lavish bathroom. Additionally, it houses a utility room and an extra bedroom, thereby ensuring ample space for every family member.
Within this subterranean sanctuary, a sunken courtyard artfully channels natural light into the basement, while a stairway provides a gentle passage to the garden, thus melding indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly.
