About White Snake House

A Contemporary Oasis: The Lakehouse Design

Tucked beside a lake and enveloped by woods, this contemporary house boasts a pool and a unique access point—a retractable telescopic footbridge. This innovative feature offers isolation from the riverbank.

Pierre MINASSIAN’s architecture studio envisioned the dwelling as a glass pavilion. It appears to float on water, flanked by serpentine white concrete slabs that form a roof patio. Elevated on stilts, the design showcases a minimalist approach. Raw materials, like glazing with its curves, seamlessly integrate into the floor. Inside, the home spreads across a single level, cleverly dividing day and night spaces.

Remarkable Structural Elements

The structure impresses with steel components. Specifically, it incorporates two steel plates, each 2cm (approximately 0.79 inches) thick, skillfully cut and folded. Suspended in place, these plates envelop a technical room with limited glazing. Moreover, the pool merges with the lake, creating a stunning overflow effect.
