About SM Apartment

Transforming the SM Apartment: A Beachfront Haven

In Santa Marta, Colombia, the SM Apartment sits right on the beach. It’s about 3000 sq. ft. (278.7 sq. meters) and has been redesigned to match its owners, a middle-aged couple. The renovation kept the original layout but updated all the finishes to reflect the couple’s style and needs.

Natural Elegance Meets Stylish Design

The apartment overlooks Santa Marta’s coastline. The goal was to make a calm space that highlights these views. The team used wood, marble, and microcement for a timeless look. Wood panels now cover doors and walls, and the main and social bathrooms have new wallpaper. This adds warmth, contrasting with the cooler stone. Microcement walls in social areas create a unique backdrop for art. The architects chose each artwork carefully to fit the design.

A Blend of Global and Local Flavors

The furniture comes from Europe, the U.S., and Brazil. These pieces, although from different places, work well together. Lighting was key. Designer lights from RWB and Flos catalogues bring everything together. The choice of materials, art, lights, and furniture really shows the personalities of the people who live there.
