About Apartment Spader
Creating a Tranquil Haven for a Busy Doctor
Our young doctor client, who spends most of her time away from home, expressed a clear desire for a tranquil space to unwind after a long day at work. She also wanted her home to accommodate informal gatherings with friends. The 90 m² (968 sq ft) apartment’s design needed to balance intimacy and sociability.
Dividing the Apartment into Three Functional Areas
We divided the apartment into three distinct sectors: the social area, intimate area, and service area. The social area comprises the living room, dining room, and kitchen; the intimate area includes bedrooms and bathrooms; and the service area consists of the laundry room.
Seamlessly Blending Comfort and Intimacy for Guests
To ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for entertaining friends without sacrificing the client’s privacy, we designed doors that seamlessly blend the living area with the other parts of the apartment. This approach allows guests to feel as if the entire home is within their reach during a gathering, creating a sense of openness and accessibility.
