About Ocean Eye

In the heart of Santa Teresa, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica, the Ocean Eye house exemplifies contemporary design. Conceived in 2016 by Benjamin Garcia Saxe, this home seamlessly integrates breathtaking ocean and jungle views.

Striking Exterior Architecture

The house is strategically positioned against a steep hill, stabilizing the soil and safeguarding it from debris. The structure evolves from solid and intimate at the back, housing bedrooms and bathrooms, to a lightweight, open front. This design captures stunning ocean and jungle vistas. The interwoven terraces create dynamic interactions between levels, fostering a unique connection with the natural surroundings.

Elegant Interior Spaces

Stepping inside, the kitchen stands out with its sleek, modern design. Featuring a central island and minimalist cabinetry, it offers functionality and style. Wooden accents on the ceiling and cabinetry bring warmth, contrasting with stainless steel appliances and polished concrete floors.

The dining area is an open, inviting space, perfect for communal meals. A large wooden table with matching benches sits under a high ceiling, blending indoor and outdoor living. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide unobstructed views of the lush greenery, enhancing the dining experience.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Transitions

The bathroom exemplifies the house’s integration with nature. It features an open design with a view of the outdoors. Concrete and wood elements create a harmonious blend, maintaining privacy while offering a unique bathing experience.

The bedrooms are airy and open, located on the upper level. They extend onto terraces, creating private retreats that overlook the picturesque landscape. Simple yet sophisticated furnishings ensure comfort while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.

Ocean Eye by Benjamin Garcia Saxe redefines contemporary coastal living, embracing nature at every turn. This house in Santa Teresa not only provides stunning views but also an architectural experience that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living.
