About Sarandi Apartment

Balancing Home Office and Entertainment in a São Paulo Penthouse

This São Paulo penthouse was thoughtfully designed to cater to the client’s dual needs of a comfortable home office and an inviting space for entertaining guests.

Maximizing Space Across Three Levels

To ensure optimal use and enjoyment, the project spreads across three floors. The first floor serves as an intimate space, featuring a mudroom and three suites, including the master suite. The second floor houses the social areas, with a seamlessly integrated living room, dining room, and outdoor area. Lastly, the third floor dedicates itself to the couple’s offices, a wine cellar, and service areas.

Overcoming the Challenge of a Helical Staircase

A helical staircase, positioned adjacent to the suspended wine cellar, connects all three floors and posed the most significant challenge during the project. To ensure its successful installation, the roof’s structural design required alterations, including new cuts in the slab and additional structural reinforcements.

Earthy Tones and Travertine Marble Define the Palette

The apartment’s palette comprises earthy tones achieved through the selection of travertine marble for the coatings. Locating the ideal color of raw material necessitated extensive research before acquiring the perfect batch.

A Blend of Terracotta Furnishings and Renowned Designers

The decor incorporates objects and furniture in terracotta and burnt orange shades. Many of the pieces come from Arthur Casas, including the Soft and Jet Set armchairs by +55design, the Pistão dining table by Herança Cultural, the Disco stools and Ettore side table by Studio Objeto, and the Ela sofa from Etel.

Besides Casas’ creations, the penthouse features works from other esteemed designers. Among them are Ricardo Fasanello’s glass-topped coffee table, Jorge Zalszupin’s Paulistana armchair and Senior dining chair, Sergio Rodrigues’ Tião chairs with arms, and Marcelo Magalhães’ floor lamp.
