About Zamoskvorech’e

Introducing the Vintage-Inspired Apartment

Nestled in the heart of Zamoskvorechye, this apartment radiates charm from its 140 square meters (1507 square feet) of space. Housed in a 19th-century building, its roots deeply embedded in history, the only surviving testament to its past is a segment of historical stucco that adorns the hallway.

A Space Enriched by History

This apartment is brimming with historical treasures. From vintage armchairs to radios, each object tells a story. These relics are not just picked from antique stores; some, like the radios, are from the designer’s grandparents’ village, adding a personal touch to the overall design. Moroccan fans and carpets, acquired from flea markets, add an exotic flair to the space.

A Palette for Peace and Serenity

The apartment’s interior design is a masterclass in subtlety. The soothing palette helps create a tranquil oasis, a retreat from the bustling city that lies just beyond the windows. Smooth, clean lines dominate the design, while the material palette leans heavily towards wood and natural fabrics. A custom artwork by Ulyana Khokhlova graces the living room, further enhancing the apartment’s unique character.

The Beauty of Imperfection

This interior design recognizes the beauty in the imperfect. Each flaw and blemish in the objects and materials contributes to their character, their story, and ultimately, the soul of this vintage apartment. “The imperfection of things and their inner life is important in this interior,” says the designer, underscoring the philosophy that drives the design of this unique space.
