About Eclectic Loft

In the bustling heart of Naples, Italy, within a historic building on the iconic Corso Vittorio Emanuele, lies the Eclectic Loft. Designed by the visionary Antonio Di Maro in 2024, this 80 sqm (approximately 861 sqft) apartment has been reborn through a bold architectural transformation. Di Maro masterfully emptied the space of its old garments, recalibrating each corner to suit modern needs while exuding undeniable eccentricity.

The Eclectic Loft is a vibrant dialogue between contrasting eras, showcasing a fearless mix of past and present without barriers. Its design language speaks in strong chromatic tones, defining the space with a few, yet impactful, colors.

This apartment redefines spatial usage with maritime precision, optimizing every inch for maximum functionality. The kitchen, adorned in a striking “GOLD” laminate, breaks traditional color schemes, courtesy of Italian craftsmanship at its finest.

A lightweight staircase defies gravity, supported by slender metal tubes, leading to a mezzanine that covers half the apartment’s area. This innovative design creates a double-height vista, veiled by 12 mm (roughly 0.47 inch) polycarbonate panels, offering a playful dance of light and shadow over the sleeping quarters.

Iconic design pieces and 19th-century Neapolitan paintings furnish the loft, challenging scale and color norms. Among them, the Bubble Chair by Miniforms dominates the living space, encapsulating the loft’s audacious spirit.

Upstairs, amidst the wardrobe area and beside the bed, stand “Vermehlla” and “Getsuen” Luly chairs, sculptural pieces by Fernando and Humberto Campana and Masanori Umeda for Edra, blurring the lines between functional furniture and art.

The Eclectic Loft is a testament to the power of architectural transformation, merging tight space optimization with a bold, eclectic aesthetic. Each design choice celebrates the unique, making this Naples apartment a distinct landmark in contemporary interior design.
