About Entre Pinos

Nestled in Nature: Valle de Bravo’s Architectural Marvel

In the heart of Valle de Bravo’s vast forest, Taller Héctor Barroso has skillfully erected five weekend homes. Perfectly integrated into the landscape, these homes are cradled by whispering pine trees.

Design in Harmony with Nature

Each structure shares a similar design, featuring six distinct volumes. These cleverly arranged volumes create a central patio, offering tranquility and seclusion. This unique layout allows for uninterrupted views and a serene atmosphere.

To the north, the structures present a solid, private facade. In contrast, the southern sides embrace the outdoors, opening up to lush gardens and the enveloping forest. This orientation ensures a flood of natural light within.

The ground floor is a seamless extension of nature, with living spaces, a dining area, a kitchen, and a bedroom all leading out to the embracing terraces and gardens. Ascend to the top floor, where three bedrooms offer stunning vistas of the towering pines.

Sustainable Materials and Recognition

True to the region’s ethos, the houses utilize local materials like brick, wood, and soil. Remarkably, the soil from the site’s excavation was repurposed to coat the walls, symbolizing architecture born from the earth.

Taller Héctor Barroso’s Entre Pinos has garnered acclaim, winning the 2018 AZ Award for Best in Architecture—specifically in the Residential Single Family Residential Interiors category. This recognition underscores the project’s innovative approach to sustainable and integrative design.
