Stepping into Tranquility
Upon descending several steps, you’re immediately greeted by a soft pink door. Entering, the expansive main floor effortlessly beckons the outdoors in. Here, the kitchen, dining, and living rooms not only open up but also warmly embrace the surrounding greenbelt. Meanwhile, on the level above, the secluded sleeping and bathing quarters offer captivating treetop views.
Thoughtful Interiors: A Balance of Form and Function
In curating the materials, a distinct mid-century charm was paramount. Yet, simultaneously, there was a compelling drive to mirror the family’s breezy West Coast lifestyle. Eagerly wishing for the interior to emanate brightness, they opted for a harmonious blend of white oak flooring and pristine millwork. Consequently, the rich tones of walnut accents and whimsical tile patterns seamlessly found their place. Additionally, finishes, thoughtfully chosen, cater impeccably to a family’s everyday needs—being durable, relaxed, and welcoming.
On the other hand, contrasting black details, strategically interspersed, provide a dynamic balance against the home’s pronounced black exterior. In an effort to accentuate the low-mod living aesthetic, the design prominently features the horizontal plane, effortlessly guiding your gaze towards the verdant outside. Furthermore, simplified finishes, especially the omission of drywall returns at windows, ensure a visually streamlined look. To wrap things up, the curated furnishings, ambient lighting, and vibrant pops of color come together, epitomizing the timeless mid-century flair.
