About Casa Mango

Reviving Historic Merida: Casa Mango’s Story

Casa Mango stands proudly in Merida’s historic downtown, showcasing a successful revival of an urban plot. This project blends natural elements with existing buildings, enhancing the area’s urban fabric. Not just a residence, Casa Mango serves as a retreat for both short and extended stays.

Design and Light: Crafting the Perfect Space

The design prioritizes the house’s public life. Spaces dedicated to activities maximize spatial relationships and interior-exterior views. Large windows throughout ensure a seamless flow of natural light, enhancing the feeling of spaciousness.

Casa Mango unfolds across two levels, each thoughtfully designed for optimal use. The first level features a terrace, bridging the urban setting with the residence. Guests enter through a vestibule leading to bedrooms. Next, a transition area opens up to the sky, forming the residence’s heart. The journey continues through the living and dining area, culminating in an outdoor terrace and pool, crowned by a mango tree.

Upper-Level Elegance and Material Mastery

Upstairs, the main bedroom offers expansive views. Windows and doors connect the room to its surroundings, complemented by service areas and a large terrace.

Material choice was critical, especially with the residence’s vast art collection. Walls and ceilings feature a smooth, neutral finish, allowing the art to shine. Marble accents in the bathrooms and kitchen add luxury, while yellow metal elements provide a unique touch, completing Casa Mango’s distinctive style.
