About Smichov Natural Apartment

A Modern Industrial Oasis in the Heart of Prague

Nestled within the vibrant Smíchov district of Prague, the Smichov Natural Apartment is a striking convergence of industrial elegance and natural warmth. Designed by the talented Iva Hájková in 2023, this apartment is a testament to the harmonious balance between the area’s urban energy and the soothing ambiance of a countryside retreat.

Embracing the Industrial Charm

The apartment is part of the Smíchov Neugraf project, a modern townhouse that pays homage to the historic printing house on Graficka Street. Accordingly, the building’s exterior exudes an industrial allure, with expansive concrete surfaces, dark windows, a simple gray facade, and metallic accents. However, the design team skillfully counteracts this rugged aesthetic by infusing the interior with a sense of warmth and comfort.

Creating a Cozy Sanctuary

Recognizing the fast-paced nature of the surrounding Smíchov district, the designers set out to craft a haven of tranquility and relaxation. Through the strategic use of natural materials, the apartment’s interior emanates a soothing, cottage-like atmosphere. Warm wooden floors and ceilings provide a inviting foundation, while the large French windows offer a captivating view of the city’s historic rooftops, trees, and sky – a calming escape from the bustling streets below.

Blending Industrial and Natural Elements

To harmonize the apartment’s industrial character with a natural ambiance, the design team has employed a minimalist approach that emphasizes the raw beauty of the materials. The stone slab is left with chipped edges, the handcrafted ceramic lights have a perfectly imperfect finish, and the clay plaster walls are textured and mottled. These natural elements are complemented by subtle black accents, such as the metal bookcase, chandelier, and handles, creating a balanced and visually striking interior.

A Tranquil Oasis for Urban Dwellers

The Smichov Natural Apartment is a sanctuary for those who cherish the great outdoors but desire the convenience of city living. With its soothing natural palette, industrial-inspired design, and captivating views, this apartment offers a unique and refined living experience in the heart of Prague. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle, the Smichov Natural Apartment provides a serene haven in the midst of the city’s vibrant energy.
