About Van der Vein

In the heart of Taichung city, Taiwan, sits the Van der Vein apartment—a beacon of contemporary design conceived by Ris Interior Design in 2017. This dwelling doesn’t just present space; it narrates a story of contrast, where natural marble dances with metallic modernity.

Entering Van der Vein

The journey begins in a living area that sets the stage with Grigio carnico marble, its linear forms bringing order to the space. Sunlight filters through sheer curtains, casting a soft glow that plays off the metallic trims, introducing the home’s luxurious yet calm ambiance.

Heart of the Home

Transition to the dining area, where white Cherokee marble takes center stage. Its veins swirl into a chevron pattern, lively against the room’s subdued palette. Here, the design thoughtfully marries the rock’s raw beauty with sleek, titanium-gilded metal, creating a backdrop that’s both striking and subtle.

Personal Sanctuaries

Each bedroom in Van der Vein is a retreat, a personal haven where design continues to celebrate contrasts. In one, dark tones complement the vivid blue of the feature wall, while in another, lighter hues invite a sense of openness and light. Throughout, the careful arrangement of materials and textures offers a visual and tactile experience that’s simple yet sophisticated.

Concluding with a space that encapsulates the apartment’s theme, the marble-panelled wall is a canvas for nature’s artwork, accented by minimalist furniture and lighting. The Van der Vein apartment stands as a prime example of contemporary Taiwanese living—chic, understated, and thoughtfully designed for a life of simple luxuries.
