About Onomo Hotel

In Out Studio and Michelangeli Design Collaborate on ONOMO Hotel Project in Nigeria

In Out Studio collaborates with Michelangeli Design to develop the interior design for ONOMO’s new 4-star hotel in Nigeria. ONOMO, the largest hotel group in Africa, is renowned for its commitment to local culture and art in all its establishments.

Nayra Iglesias’ team, along with Lead Designer Jerome Michelangeli, has completed the exciting 3,000-square-meter (32,292-square-foot) project encompassing common areas and 148 rooms. The project is now in the execution phase. Colorful, vibrant, and full of life, the hotel’s design concept aims to create a premium experience tailored to the lifestyle of African business travelers visiting Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Transforming Spaces for Dynamic Synergy

In Out Studio turns the project’s foundation into dynamic spaces designed to generate synergy among users, enhancing the ONOMO spirit and establishing a gathering landmark in the city. The hotel’s public side, covering over 3,000 square meters (32,292 square feet), includes the reception, work areas, personal care spaces, solarium, and swimming pool.

The establishment also offers a coworking area and an event room catering to the hotel’s clientele. The hotel is equipped to meet the demands of a busy business travel lifestyle.

A Variety of Room Types for Every Guest

The hotel’s rest area spans eight floors with 148 rooms in total, offering eight different room types. These range from the 23-square-meter (247-square-foot) Standard Room to the 50-square-meter (538-square-foot) Suite, which features a hydromassage, sensory shower, and two distinct spaces.

The private area’s interior design shares the same vibrant, colorful, and lively characteristics, creating an urban chic environment that allows guests to work comfortably while also providing a complete escape.

Embracing Local Craftsmanship and Materials

In line with ONOMO’s philosophy, the project incorporates local materials and craftsmanship, as evident in the wallpaper and art pieces displayed throughout the hotel.

The hotel’s corridor area serves as a distinguishing feature, offering a disruptive space with character that combines textures and tectonic geometry for a dynamic effect.

Iconic Indoor and Outdoor Restaurant Spaces

The hotel’s indoor and outdoor restaurant areas are iconic spaces within the Hotel Group, designed to encourage interaction between locals and guests. These areas include a buffet, a 360-degree bar, a chill-out zone, and the solarium and pool area.

The colorful and inviting bar leads to the swimming pool, a versatile social space that adapts throughout the day. It hosts outdoor gym activities, serves as an outdoor bar area, and accommodates events, thanks to its DJ booth.

The new ONOMO 4-star hotel in Abuja is poised to become an architectural landmark, offering visitors the perfect location to experience Africa’s chicest ambiance.
