About Ikies 3

Ikies 3: A Glimpse into Greece’s Coastal Luxury

Nestled on Alykes’ coast in the heart of Volos, Greece, lies Ikies 3. This exciting project introduces a triplex of tourist-friendly homes, all boasting a striking sea view.

Striking Design and Intentional Orientation

Embodying a linear layout, the three structures showcase their seaside orientation, separated by distinct exposed concrete walls. Notably, the open-plan ground floor in each of these double-storied homes boasts an impressive level of permeability. Amplified by large skylights next to the concrete walls, natural light bathes the area, enhancing the home’s linear form and providing multi-directional views.

Seamless Transition and Comfortable Living

Access to the first residence is direct from the street, drawing visitors into a common area featuring a unique corner glass window. A captivating panoramic sea view greets guests, connecting them to the surrounding nature. The following two homes, accessible from the scenic back garden, similarly enchant with sea views upon entry. Each living room extends to the front porch, with large window openings dissolving the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. A metal staircase, suspended from the concrete wall, connects the cozy living areas to the serene bedrooms above.

Master Bedrooms with a View and Private Balconies

In each dwelling, the grand glass opening of the ground floor extends upwards, gifting the master bedrooms with unobstructed sea views. Individual balconies ensure privacy, breaking up the uniformity of the sea-facing façade with three protruding white cubes. The balcony of the corner house further asserts itself, stretching across the building’s entire east façade.

Material Choices and Amenities

Exposed concrete, metal, and white plaster were the primary materials chosen for the project, setting the stage for contemporary elegance. Each home benefits from a private, small swimming pool (size in metric measurements and equivalent in imperial measurements), strategically placed in the garden for optimal sea views. To ensure uninterrupted views, a low concrete fence encases the plot.

Incorporating Privacy and Shade

On the east edge, a perforated (claustra) wall introduces privacy and shade, subtly reinforcing the building’s linear form. This functional yet stylish addition enhances the overall architectural design, completing the Ikies 3 touristic housing complex.
