About House in Mataelpino

Project Overview: Merging Client Desires and Natural Beauty

In our project, a detached single-family house, integrating the client’s requirements with the existing trees while optimizing solar orientation posed a considerable challenge.

Optimal Design on a Unique Plot

Situated on a 470 m2 (5059 ft2) trapezoid-shaped plot, we carefully located a two-story house. This dwelling houses three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a half bath, and an open-space living room complete with a kitchen and lounge area, plus an office.

Maximizing Natural Elements

The setback lines guided us to the usable surface within the plot. To fully leverage sunlight, we oriented the house southward, further enhancing views of the verdant surroundings.

Harmonious Material Selection

On the upper floor, we selected a single-layer white coating, contrasted by a wood-effect porcelain tile on the lower level. This choice accentuated the volumes and harmonized the house with the environment.

Embracing Light and Energy Efficiency

Our carpentry of choice was highly efficient anthracite grey PVC. All areas bask in natural light, including the bathrooms and staircase, where we installed transparent skylights to let residents savor the sky’s changing hues.

Advanced Comfort and Sustainability

The house sports an underfloor heating and cooling system, energized by an aerothermal heat pump. Complementing this, we installed photovoltaic solar panels, adding a green touch.

A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Modernity

In the end, we crafted a simple, functional solution that melds tradition with modernity through its material selection, all the while fully exploiting the site’s intrinsic environmental values.
