About Casa Santa Teresa

A Timeless Seaside Retreat

Imagine a home by the sea, evoking sun-kissed days and languid evenings. Beauty emerges as a true celebration. Here, interior melds with exterior, each complementing the other, guided by the play of light filtering through striped shutters. These pivot doors either beckon or shield, leading to the expansive living space dotted with secret alcoves. Above, hidden rooms await, while nature escorts every swim in the pool.

Perched above the Mediterranean, this ethereal white structure promises an idyllic escape. Just a few meters away, the sea beckons, tantalizingly close to the warmth of sun-soaked paths.

Embracing History and Beauty

This 1950s abode underwent transformation, but its soul and spirit remained untouched. Walls hold memories, silently narrating tales of joy, laughter, and the irresistible allure of the Mediterranean’s embrace. As if plucked from the heart of the city, the home stands, championing beauty and tranquility.

A Vision of Openness and Light

Pivot doors, secretive alcoves, and unhindered views characterize this space. Designed for beauty to flow seamlessly, it invites gazes to the horizon and fuels imagination. Rope railings, striped shutters reminiscent of times gone by, and framed doors deftly manage intense sunlight.

Navigating the home reveals its charm. The sprawling living room boasts a cozy fireplace, connected to the upper chambers by a wooden stairway. Outside, a path descends, guiding residents to the beckoning beach, a tangible reward behind the Sanguinaires road. Against the vast sky, the pristine white facade stands gracefully, flanked by nature’s guardians—the plants and blossoms that watch over the pool and its terrace. It epitomizes the dream vacation home, echoing those cherished childhood memories where night meets day, and where beauty reigns supreme.

The Architectural Vision of Amelia Tavella

“Casa Santa Teresa embodies my architectural approach,” Amelia Tavella declares. “I build without defeating, without betrayal. I embrace inclusion. Nature pervades my designs, serving neither as a barrier nor an impediment. Instead, she’s my honored guest. I adapt, yielding to trees, light, and topography. This balance between modern architecture and age-old landscapes captivates me.”

Her respect for nature and the past is palpable. “Each project challenges me to fit the structure seamlessly into its environment without disruption or harm. It’s a harmonious extension, never a severance.”
