About Bernal Turret

Transforming an ’80s Hillside House

This hillside house, originally constructed in the ’80s, once showcased a blend of disparate styles. The unique post-modern dwelling, distinguished by its trapezoid shape and an eye-catching rounded tower on one corner, nestles on a triangular plot.

Embracing the House’s Geometric Identity

In the home’s reimagining, we not only embraced its inherent geometric appeal but also aimed to create a more spacious interior. We redesigned the kitchen on the second floor to reflect the home’s unique trapezoid silhouette with a custom-shaped island at the center.

Marrying Minimalist Details with Crafted Elements

To infuse warmth and serenity into the home’s unusual spaces, we paired new minimalist details with handcrafted features. A notable addition includes a gracefully tapered, reclaimed post, contributing to an atmosphere of understated elegance. This combination lends a fresh, tranquil aesthetic to the house, making each room feel like a cozy retreat while still maintaining the home’s geometric charm.
