Saint Verissimo House by Ren Ito Arquiteto
This house was originally a one-story house. We added the second floor to create a house where the family could live comfortably, using a part of the existing façade.
On the first floor, there is a space where the living room, dining room, and kitchen with a large atrium are integrated. On the second floor, there is a couple’s bedroom and a children’s room.
There is a difference in land height in this project, and the back side is one floor higher than the front side, so it is difficult for natural light to enter the living room located on the backside. Therefore, the daylight enters through windows on the 2nd floor and the atrium.
After the gate facing the street, there is a parking space and a platform next to the parking. We will enter the wide-open living/dining space when we go through the entrance door. In the back, there is a kitchen illuminated by skylights, and next to the entrance, there is a staircase that opens to the living room. Behind the stairs, there is a closet and a bathroom, an office and a bedroom.
When we come up to the second floor with the stairs, there is another office space facing the atrium. Next to it, there is a children’s room, and on the other side of the stairs, there is a shared bathroom and the entrance to the suite room, which has its own bathroom and a walk-in closet. On the other side of the street in front of this house is a park, and the trees of the park can be seen from the suite room.
