Casanguilla: Embracing Nature in a Luxurious Italian Retreat

Step into Casanguilla, a stunning embodiment of modern, minimalist design nestled in the heart of Italy’s San Vito dei Normanni. Imagined by the visionary team at Quarzo Studio in 2023, this residential marvel harmoniously blends tradition and innovation within its two-acre private olive grove.

Crafted from tufo stones and adorned with the ancient ‘scialbatura di calce’ painting technique, this thermally efficient home runs purely on solar energy, giving a nod to sustainability. The heart of this Apulian countryside retreat is its open-concept living space, complimented by three bedrooms each with private bathrooms and entrances. Outside, the 40 sqm (430 sqft) minimalist pool, comfortable loungers, and outdoor dining amenities beckon you to experience the tranquil rhythm, color, and sound of nature that envelops this impressive property.

About Casanguilla

Immersive Nature in Casanguilla’s Design

Casanguilla stands as a testament to the idea of fostering an intimate connection with nature. The heart of its design draws inspiration from the undulating rhythm, vibrant color, and soothing sound of the Apulian countryside. Nestled within a private olive grove spanning 2 acres (approximately 8094 square meters), the house showcases a harmonious blend of local tradition and modern minimalistic architecture.

The construction features tufo stones and a unique layer of paint applied using the ‘scialbatura di calce,’ an ancient technique. This technique not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the house but also imbues it with a sense of historical depth.

Sustainable Living at Its Core

Sustainability forms the cornerstone of Casanguilla’s values. The house is a model of thermal efficiency and exclusively harnesses solar energy for its power needs. This emphasis on green living underscores the project’s commitment to ecological responsibility.

Expansive and Comfortable Spaces

The property incorporates a main body that houses a spacious living room, a dining area with an independent kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. To enhance its capacity, Casanguilla offers two additional bedrooms. Each of these comes with a private bathroom and a separate entrance, ensuring privacy and comfort for all inhabitants.

One bedroom finds its place in a roomy modern annex, while the other resides in an intimate ancient lamia, complete with a classic barrel vault. These additions underscore the blend of past and present that permeates the property.

Leisure and Relaxation Features

For leisure and relaxation, Casanguilla offers a 40 sqm (approximately 430 square feet) minimalistic pool. The outdoor loungers, carefully designed, offer an opportunity for complete relaxation while immersing you in the beauty of nature.

The outdoor dining table and kitchen set the stage for delightful ‘al fresco’ dining experiences. Here, residents and guests alike can enjoy the rich flavors of the local cuisine under the vast Apulian sky.
