About Casa Azul

Casa Azul: An Eco-Conscious Retreat

Nestled in Iporanga, Guarujá, along São Paulo’s coastline, Casa Azul epitomizes sustainable luxury. Studio MK27’s design delicately navigates the environmental preservation guidelines of the Atlantic Forest. Remarkably, they achieved an environmental certification while preserving the existing landscape.

Balancing Design and Conservation

The design team limited interventions, confining the project to an area pre-approved by environmental agencies. Consequently, much of the land remains untouched.

Mindful Construction

During construction, a protective perimeter of two meters (approximately 6.6 feet) encircled the house, safeguarding the forest. Moreover, the landscaping project embraced the challenge of rejuvenating the forest with native plants. This initiative ensures the space breathes without feeling constricted, simultaneously merging the new with the existing vegetation. Over time, this fusion will naturally evolve the landscape.

Harmony by the Pool

Near the pool, the design accentuates a shaded garden, seamlessly blending with the encompassing native flora. This verdant embrace continues, guiding visitors towards the sea.
