About Condominium Renovation

A Seamless Blend of Architecture and Design at South Beach

In the iconic South Beach, Foster + Partners have masterfully merged two condominium units into one at the Faena. This newly integrated residence boasts panoramic views, spanning from Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami to the sandy beaches and the vast Atlantic Ocean.

Innovative Design Meets Natural Beauty

A functional, mast-shaped millwork piece runs through the public spaces, tapering as it approaches the ocean. This design choice cleverly draws the eye to the expansive opening that frames the waterfront and balcony, inviting the outside in. Furthermore, the living room and master bedroom feature rugs with concentric circles. These mimic the balcony’s shape and the soft sand’s texture, enhancing the connection between the interior and the oceanfront.

A Palette Inspired by South Beach

The design vocabulary throughout the residence – from bedrooms to the living room – mirrors South Beach’s essence. Elements reminiscent of cabanas, sun louvers, and beach balls, alongside the colors of the sun and sea, infuse the space with local charm. The backdrop features watercolor blue glass panels that merge seamlessly with the sky, while terrazzo floors reflect the shifting sands below.

An intriguing feature, an Alice in Wonderland-like keyhole, provides a whimsical focal point in the residence’s narrowest section. It leads the gaze to a yellow curved cylinder, reminiscent of the sun, in the apartment’s only windowless space.

Artistic Accents and Unique Furniture

Art installations, such as Benedetta Mori Ubaldini’s white and yellow wire mesh Jellyfish, cast mesmerizing shadows, evoking the sea’s tranquility. In the living room, custom sofas and iconic furniture pieces, like the Willy Rizzo dining table and the Campana Brothers Sushi Sofa, echo tidal movements and coastal vibes.

Each guest bedroom bursts with the primary colors of beach umbrellas, while the media screening room features chaises upholstered in sand-colored textiles, offering a nod to the beach’s natural beauty.

Embracing the Elements

This residence is a celebration of its surroundings, filled with the light of the sun, the breadth of the sea, and the expanse of the sky. It stands as a testament to design that not only respects but enhances its natural and cultural context, offering a unique living experience that is both immersive and inspiring.
