Bridgehampton House: A Modern Coastal Renewal

The Bridgehampton House, reinvented by Specht Novak in 2015, stands as a beacon of modern architecture amidst the coastal charm of Bridgehampton, New York. This two-story home, originally built in the 1980s, has undergone a significant transformation to embody the light and landscape of Long Island’s shores.

With expansive windows and high, clear windows, the design ensures that natural light and picturesque views are the heart of this coastal abode. Utilitarian yet elegant materials like sealed plywood and bleached cedar perfectly accentuate the home’s airy and inviting atmosphere, offering a serene retreat that harmonizes with its seaside surroundings.

About Bridgehampton House

Revamping the Bridgehampton House

Specht Novak reimagined the Bridgehampton House with modern elegance. They added wide windows and high clerestory glass, inviting sunlight and showcasing sea views. For materials, they chose simple, functional ones. Smooth plywood and light cedar complement the architecture and brighten the home.

Embracing the Beachside Charm

The home’s renovation reflects its beachside locale. Large windows serve a dual purpose, welcoming light and displaying the sea. The design fosters a calm, open vibe, making the Bridgehampton House a serene retreat by the tranquil beach.
